Frequently Asked Questions
How are my union dues used?
Your dues fund the resources we need to win strong contracts and defend our rights. This includes legal support, skilled negotiators, organizers, training for stewards, and communications to keep all members informed.
What is the difference between a member and a non-member?
All classified staff are covered by a contract, but only members have the right to vote on that contract, elect union leadership, and participate in union decision-making. Our strength comes from a high membership rate, which shows management we are united.
How do I contact my union steward?
Your steward is your first point of contact for workplace issues. You can find a list of current stewards for your department on the Leadership page, or by contacting the union office.
