COMMUNITY EVENT
Ice Cream Social Was a Sweet Success!

Thank you to all the members, family, and friends who joined us for our Solidarity Ice Cream Party outside the Kerr Administration building! It was a fantastic afternoon of sunshine, pizza, sweet treats, and solidarity. Events like these are a wonderful opportunity to connect with our union siblings from across campus in a relaxed and fun setting.
It was great to see so many faces, new and familiar, taking a well-deserved break and enjoying each other's company. We also had the chance to engage in positive conversations with several staff members from Human Resources who were walking by. We even shared some ice cream with them, building bridges and fostering a spirit of community.
Our Actions Made a Difference
The timing of our social was perfect. That same morning, leaders and members made calls to Employee Labor Relations, urging them to meet with our executive team regarding layoff discussions. Because of our collective action, management responded and agreed to a meeting, honoring their contractual obligation. Thank you to everyone who made calls—your efforts made a real difference!
Building Power Through Community
Our union is strongest when we are connected. Social events are a key part of building the relationships and solidarity that fuel our power at the bargaining table and in the workplace. We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
Not a Member? What’s Holding You Back?
Becoming a member strengthens our Union to have power during these super difficult times. Your power, voice, and actions allow all of us to show management that we are here to work, and while working be paid, respected, and heard. The only way this can happen is when our membership numbers reflect to management that we won’t allow them to disrespect us, along with our Collective Bargaining Agreement.
